Welcome!

Lane offers multiple Drama Elective Classes and a four-year Drama Concentration. All Drama classes are project and performance based and encourage students to expand their creativity, communication, and collaboration—skills that are essential in college and future careers. The Drama Department has arts partnerships with Steppenwolf Theatre Company and Pegasus Players Theatre. While studying Drama, students take fieldtrips to see professional plays in Chicago. Students in LT Drama are consistent winners in Chicago’s Young Playwright’s Festival and medal annually at The Chicago Youth Theatre Festival. Many students who complete the Drama Concentration go on to study Drama at competitive universities. There are no additional course fees to take Drama.
All Drama Classes fulfill the fine arts graduation requirement. Lane students can take Drama as an arts class or an elective.
