Dear Lane Tech families:
Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! As you enter the building this year you will notice our
new lights in the parking lot. The project was funded by the parents of Lane Tech with help
from Alderman Pawar’s office. If you can indulge me to use the project as a metaphor, it is the
result of our community coming together in order to create a bright future for our children.
Furthermore, another project funded by our parent community is renovation of our female
locker-room that should be completed in October. It is with the strong support of our parent
and local businesses that helps make Lane Tech a truly special community.
Our students will experience a new class this year in the computer science department called
Incubator, where students will experience the process for product creation from brainstorming
through development. Our students will continue to experience our plethora of elective
choices in Science, Social Science, English, Art, Computer Science, Math and Performing Arts,
one of the 134 club offerings, stellar Sport teams, Academic teams and our many school event
gatherings on a scale that other schools cannot match.
Lane Tech has an environment where students are able to focus on their academic classes, club
and art activities, and athletic teams; where our students are empowered to express
themselves positively in the school, world and our communities; where our students are
allowed the freedom to feel safe and accepted when they come to school; because of your
support of your child, we are able to focus on making this a reality.
That is the Lane difference!
Go Lane Go!
Sincerely,
Brian Tennison
