Freshman Year Classes<\/strong><\/p>\n

A tentative program has been built based on your enrollment form. \u00a0Your freshman year classes are available on the Class of 2030 Course Selections page<\/a>. \u00a0Math courses will be updated based on the results of the CPS Algebra Exit Exam and Lane Tech math placement exam. Students who did not complete the online enrollment form by May 7th will have delay in viewing their classes.\u00a0 Actual schedules will not be available until early August.\u00a0 Mentor information and Advisory (homeroom) will be available at a later time on the Course Selections page.<\/p>\n

Current LTAC students received an email from Ms. Hildebrandt after course selections that listed the seven courses that the student will take next year as well.<\/p>\n

Optional Summer Reading<\/strong><\/p>\n

All students enrolled in an English class are encouraged to read throughout the summer.\u00a0 Please visit the Lane Tech English Department website <\/a>after May 23rd for the suggested summer reading lists for each English class.<\/span><\/p>\n

New to Chicago Public Schools?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Establish your CPS email address by following these quick steps: CPS Email Account Instructions<\/a>. If you don’t know your CPS ID number, you can log into your account at apply.cps.edu to find it. Students new to CPS will not be able to establish this account until after August 1.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Medical Records<\/strong><\/p>\n

All freshmen are required to submit a physical examination form for the 2026-2027 school year. The physical must include a current T-DAP vaccination. Please ensure that your child has received the T-dap vaccine within the last ten years or will receive it during the physical examination visit. Please make a copy of your child’s physical for your records. Physicals must take place June 12, 2026** or later and are due at Quick Start. Click here\u00a0<\/a>to\u00a0access a copy of the physical form that is required by CPS.<\/p>\n

All students who are participating in any sport or summer sports camp must also complete an Illinois High School Association (IHSA) physical form\u00a0in addition to<\/em>\u00a0the CPS physical form. These can be completed at the same time by your doctor. Both forms are required for students participating in any high school sport or activity. \u00a0Click here<\/a> to access the IHSA physical form.<\/p>\n

**Physicals are good for one year. \u00a0At the time of Quick Start, students who have had a physical within the year can submit the existing physical. \u00a0Students should then submit an updated physical when their current physical expires.<\/p>\n

Ventra Cards<\/strong><\/p>\n

Incoming freshmen can purchase a Ventra cards during Quick Start for $6, and will receive their card during the first week of school.\u00a0 If you have an existing CPS Ventra card, you should continue to use it.\u00a0 The student rate is not available during the summer.\u00a0 The Ventra card also serves as your CPS student ID.<\/p>\n
