Lane Tech College Prep, Chicagoʼs first selective enrollment high school, was established in 1908 and has upheld a strong tradition of excellence for over 100 years. Located on Chicagoʼs north side, Lane sits on 33 beautiful acres and currently enrolls over 4,500 students. The campus, historic building, and ivy-covered walls evoke the feeling of a traditional college campus, which contributes to the collegiate atmosphere at Lane. Students come from Chicagoʼs diverse neighborhoods to form a community of learners. Lane provides students with a unique academic experience and a well-rounded education that prepares them not only for college but also the opportunities they will encounter in their careers.
Lane teachers and staff collaborate with parents and the school community to provide a challenging and rigorous college prep curriculum. Laneʼs variety of curricular offerings and AP courses gives students academic options not available elsewhere. Laneʼs rich tradition of combining academic excellence with athletic prowess is unique among selective enrollment high schools. Students leave the school with an unparalleled school spirit, and alumni can be seen visiting the school and attending athletic events years after graduating.
