The CPS Algebra Exit Exam is composed of 40 questions, a mix of multiple choice and machine scored constructed response. There will not be any human scored items on the exam. Students will have 120 minutes to complete the exam.

Geometry

Each year, we have students who took and passed the CPS Algebra Exit Exam during seventh grade and are taking Geometry as eighth graders.  Some students are taking Geometry at neighborhood high schools, and others are taking it at their elementary schools.

Students taking Geometry through CPS Virtual Academy: You will receive a Geometry Competency letter from the Office of Teaching and Learning at the end of the school year.  Please forward that letter to Ms. Johnson at tecarroll@cps.edu.

Students taking Geometry NOT through CPS Virtual Academy:  Students who are taking a full year of Geometry in eighth grade must provide an email or letter from their math teacher or other official on school letterhead. The letter must include the name and CPS ID number of the student who has completed Geometry, the name of the instructor, and the student’s first and second semester grades.  The school official can submit one letter listing the names of all students who are taking a full year of Geometry and will be coming to Lane Tech next year.  The letter should be emailed directly to Ms. Johnson at tecarroll@cps.edu. Students who submit this letter will be placed in H Algebra II/Trig.

Here is a sample letter from last year.  Please share this information with your geometry teacher:
