5/18- Algebra Exit Exams

CPS Algebra Exit Exam: Any student who is currently taking a full year of Algebra is eligible to take Honors Geometry as a freshman if they take and pass the CPS Algebra Exit Exam.  Students currently attending CPS schools or CPS charter schools will take the exam at school May 17th-19th.  Students who do not attend CPS schools will take the exam at a CPS location on May 20th. The CPS Algebra Exit Exam is composed of 40 questions, a mix of multiple choice and machine scored constructed response. There will not be any human scored items on the exam. Students will have 120 minutes to complete the exam.

Lane Tech Math Placement Exam: The Lane Tech math department will host a math placement exam to provide students an additional opportunity to place into Geometry. This exam will be offered to students who do not pass the CPS Algebra Exit Exam and scored an 80% or higher on the High School Admissions Test.  The test will take place the week of June 10th, either before or after Champions Week.  Eligible students will receive an email once CPS Algebra Exit Exam results are available.

Students who have not taken a full year of Algebra will take Honors Algebra at Lane Tech next year.
