We’re so glad you’re interested in visiting our campus! To ensure the safety and productivity of our school day, please read the following guidelines before your arrival.

All visitors must call in advance to schedule their visit, as we sometimes have testing or events that restrict access. Upon arrival, please enter through Door M (by the parking lot) to sign in and receive a visitor’s pass from Lobby Guard.

We welcome aspiring educators! Please direct all inquiries regarding classroom observation or student teaching to Assistant Principal, Mollie Hart, at mahart@cps.edu.

Student Observation Hours

To observe a class, please follow these steps:

  1. Complete the Field Experience Clearance through Chicago Public Schools.
  2. Email your completed clearance document to Mollie Hart at mahart@cps.edu.
  3. In your email, please specify the subject area you wish to observe.

Ms. Hart will notify the department head. If your request can be accommodated, you will receive an email with your observation schedule. Thank you for your patience!

Student Teaching

To apply for a student teaching position, please have the Student Teacher Coordinator from your university submit the following documents to Mollie Hart at mahart@cps.edu:

  • A copy of your resume
  • Your university’s School Acceptance Form

Building Hours & Access Points πŸ•’

Please use the designated doors during these times:

  • 6:00 AM – 7:35 AM: Enter through Door M only.
  • 7:35 AM – 8:00 AM: Enter through Door A or Door M.
  • During the School Day (until 4:00 PM):
    • All Visitors: Please enter through Door M (from the parking lot) or Door B.
    • Students: Use Door M.
  • Lunch Periods: Doors A, D, and M are open. Students who leave for lunch may re-enter after their lunch period has ended.
  • After 4:00 PM: All doors will be locked. You may exit through Door D or Door M until 8:00 PM.

Getting to Lane Tech πŸ—ΊοΈ

Using the CTA 🚍

  • Brown Line: Take the ‘L’ to the Addison stop. From there, Lane Tech is about a mile west. You can catch the #152 Addison bus heading west right to our campus.
  • Bus: The #49 Western bus runs north and south and stops directly in front of the school.

Driving Directions πŸš—

Our main parking lot is located off Western Avenue, between Roscoe St and Addison St. The entrance is on the south side of the main building.

  • From the South: Take I-90/94 (Dan Ryan/Kennedy) North. Take exit 47A for Fullerton/Western. Continue straight through the first light to Western Ave and turn right (North). After you cross Roscoe St, the entrance to our parking lot will be on your left.
  • From the North: Take Lake Shore Drive South and exit at Irving Park Rd. Head west until you reach Western Ave. Turn left (South) on Western. You will pass the school building (on your right) after you cross Addison St. The parking lot entrance will be on your right.
  • From the Northwest: Take I-90/94 (Edens/Kennedy) East. Exit at Addison St and turn left (East). Continue on Addison until you reach Western Ave. Turn right (South) on Western, and the parking lot entrance will be immediately on your right.
  • From the West: Take I-290 (Eisenhower) East to I-90/94 West. Follow the directions “From the South” above.
