The Lane Tech Academic Center is an accelerated program for high-achieving students. Since academic centers are housed in high schools, they allow students to take high school-level courses in English, Social Studies, Science, Mathematics, World Language, Music, or Art. The Academic Center is a two year program, and students must apply to LTAC in 6th grade in order to be admitted to grades 7 and 8. Any student who has a minimum GPA of 2.5 can submit an application for an Academic Center. Students use the GoCPS site beginning in September of their 6th grade year to apply to the Academic Center. The deadline to apply is typically mid-December. Click here for full information about Academic Centers. Visit go.cps.edu during the fall of a student’s sixth grade year in order to apply.
