AP English Language and Composition

Suggested skills and prior knowledge: Students must have successfully completed Survey of Literature, American Literature, and possibly British Literature before enrolling in AP Language. Students must be comfortable and skilled in writing, analyzing challenging poetry and prose, have a genuine interest in the subject area, and a working knowledge and interest in historical and current events.

Prerequisites: Students who have taken MORE than 1 CS course should NOT sign up for this one. It’s meant as an intro AP course.
Suggested skills and prior knowledge: AP CSP was designed to be more of an intro AP CS course. More breadth than depth. Kids don’t need to have any CS experience but they must be ready for a discussion heavy classroom. Much of their learning comes through discussion, team projects/presentations, and reflective journals. Considering majoring in computer science.

AP Spanish Literature and Culture
Teacher: Ms. Perez
Prerequisites: In class, students must speak exclusively or almost exclusively in Spanish. Students must want to read and write essays in Spanish. Students must have great attendance & punctuality. It is highly recommended that students have taken & completed A.P. Spanish Language successfully. Student should kindly have his/her A.P. Spanish Language teacher fill out a short form that requests two sentences. The student needs to have a strong desire to learn, work, and put forth effort, above and beyond. For example, one should be willing to come to school to work some Saturdays during the school year and stay late to work after the regular school day other days.
Suggested skills and prior knowledge: The ideal student has already developed Spanish language skills that encompass the interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational modes. This course continues developing the three modes of written and spoken communication while incorporating literature, art, music, film, and other cultural products that can relate to the literary works being studied.
